Delhi Metro Rename Stations List: Check All New Metro Stations Names
Delhi government approved new names for several Metro stations, including Rohini and Dwarka, along with the renaming of Britannia Chowk in Delhi.
The Delhi government has approved the renaming of several Delhi Metro stations and prominent public places across the capital. The decision was taken at a meeting of the State Naming Authority (SNA) chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Under the latest changes, Britannia Chowk has been renamed "Ashwini Chopra (Minna) Chowk." Rohini West Metro Station will now be known as "Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital Metro Station," while Rohini East Metro Station has been renamed "Rohini Metro Station." Dwarka Metro Station has also been renamed "Dwarka-Kakrola Metro Station."

- Rohini West Metro Station → Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital Metro Station
- Rohini East Metro Station → Rohini Metro Station
- Dwarka Metro Station → Dwarka-Kakrola Metro Station
- Britannia Chowk, Shakurpur → Ashwini Chopra (Minna) Chowk
- Begumpur Sports Complex → Atal Sports Complex
- Hospital under construction in Jwalapuri → Baba Ramdevji Maharaj Hospital
Officials stated that the renaming process aims to strengthen local identity, honor notable personalities, and make station names easier for passengers to recognize and remember. Officials also believe that naming stations based on prominent landmarks will ease commutes for daily commuters using the Delhi Metro network.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that the initiative aims to honor personalities and places associated with Delhi's social and historical landscape. He said, “Delhi is not only the administrative capital of the country, but it also represents the cultural, social and historical consciousness of the nation.”
