The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the temporary closure of 16 metro stations in Central Delhi from 7:30 AM until further notice for safety reasons. Metro train services will continue on all routes, but trains will not stop at the affected stations.
DMRC Announces Temporary Station Closures
According to the DMRC, passenger entry and exit have been suspended at the affected stations to enhance security. Passengers traveling from Central Delhi are advised to check the latest service updates and plan their travel accordingly.

Interchange Services Continue
DMRC has confirmed that interchange facilities will remain available at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, and Central Secretariat. However, passengers will not be allowed to enter or exit through these stations.
Reason for the Closure
Due to the ongoing protests at Jantar Mantar and heightened security measures regarding irregularities in the NEET exam, 16 major Delhi Metro stations have been closed. These restrictions will remain in place until further instructions from the relevant authorities. The DMRC has advised passengers to use other stations wherever possible.
Supreme Court Takes Note of Metro Station Closure
Chief Justice of India Surya Kant addressed the inconvenience caused by the closure of the Supreme Court Metro Station and other nearby stations. During the hearing, the CJI stated that the court would intervene if the matter was not resolved by lunchtime. He also emphasized the impact of the closure on lawyers, litigants, and court staff.
