CM Samrat Inaugurated Malahi Pakadi Metro Station
CM Samrat Choudhary inaugurated Malahi Pakadi Metro Station in Patna. The new metro section covers a 6.2 km route in just 15 minutes, improving connectivity and daily commuting.
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated the Malahi Pakadi Metro Station under the Patna Metro Rail Project's Priority Corridor, marking another important milestone in the expansion of metro services in the state capital. With the commissioning of the extended section, commuters can now travel the approximately 6.2 km stretch between Malahi Pakadi and New ISBT in around 15 minutes, significantly reducing road travel time and improving urban connectivity in Patna.
6.2 Km Metro Route Now Operational
With the opening of Malahi Pakadi Metro Station, passengers can now travel on the approximately 6.2 km Priority Corridor connecting Malahi Pakadi and the New Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT). The journey, which often takes considerably longer by road during peak traffic hours, can now be completed in nearly 15 minutes through the metro service.

Patna Metro Fare and Smart Card Facility
Along with inaugurating the station, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also launched the Patna Metro Prepaid Smart Card. The smart card will enable commuters to travel without purchasing tickets for every journey, reducing waiting time at ticket counters and promoting cashless travel across the metro network. Metro fares continue to remain affordable for daily commuters as notified by the authorities.
Passenger Amenities at Malahi Pakadi Metro Station
The station has been equipped with modern passenger facilities designed to provide a comfortable commuting experience. These include escalators, lifts, ticketing facilities, CCTV surveillance, passenger information systems, and accessibility features for elderly and differently-abled passengers. The station has been developed as part of the modern infrastructure planned under the Patna Metro Rail Project.
Government's Statement on Patna Metro Expansion
During the inauguration, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said that the expansion of Patna Metro would strengthen the city's public transport system by reducing traffic congestion, cutting travel time, and helping curb vehicular pollution. The extension is expected to benefit thousands of daily commuters travelling between eastern Patna and the city's major transport hub at ISBT.
Authority Behind the Patna Metro Project
The Patna Metro Rail Project is being implemented by Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRCL) with technical support from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The metro project was approved by the Union Cabinet in 2019 and is being developed in phases to improve urban mobility across Patna through a modern mass rapid transit system.
