Delhi Metro to start 3 AM service on April 5 for Soldierathon

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced a special service update for commuters in Delhi-NCR. On Sunday, April 5, 2026, metro trains will start running at 3:00 am to facilitate participants in the PNB Soldierthon Marathon. This early start is aimed at easing travel for thousands of runners heading to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

DMRC Shares Update on X

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced morning special services for April 5, 2026, via a post on X. According to the announcement, metro trains on some lines will start running from 3:00 AM to facilitate participants of the PNB Soldierthon Marathon.

The DMRC stated that this arrangement has been made to ensure smooth travel for runners and attendees heading to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Trains will run at intervals of approximately 30 minutes between 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM, after which the regular Sunday schedule will resume across the network.

Metro Lines Covered Under Special Timing

To facilitate easy travel for Marathon participants, early morning Metro services will be available on select key corridors of the Delhi Metro network. Early morning services will be available only on three key Metro lines connecting key residential areas to Central and South Delhi, ensuring smooth access to the Marathon venue.

  • Yellow Line: Samaypur Badli – Millennium City Centre Gurugram
  • Blue Line: Dwarka Sector 21 / Dwarka – Noida Electronic City / Vaishali
  • Violet Line: Kashmere Gate – Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabhgarh)

Metro services on these lines will begin from 3:00 AM and operate at intervals of around 30 minutes until 6:00 AM. After that, the regular Sunday schedule will resume across the network.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation advises passengers to check route-wise availability and plan their travel accordingly, as the extended service will only be applicable on April 5th and on certain routes.
