DMRC Announces Early Metro Services for UPSC Prelims
DMRC to start early metro services on select lines for UPSC Prelims 2026.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that for the convenience of candidates appearing for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Preliminary Examination, metro services will start earlier on Sunday, May 24, 2026, on some corridors of the Delhi Metro.
According to the DMRC, metro train services on the Pink Line, Magenta Line, and Grey Line will start at 6:00 am on Sunday, instead of the regular time of 7:00 am. This move is aimed at helping candidates reach their exam centres easily and on time.
Delhi Metro Early Service Timings for UPSC Prelims 2026
DMRC stated that the revised schedule will be applicable only on Sunday, May 24, 2026, for select corridors of the Delhi Metro network.
- Metro services will begin at 6:00 AM on Pink, Magenta, and Grey Lines
- Trains will run at a frequency of 15 minutes between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM
- Normal Sunday timetable will resume after 7:00 AM
Delhi Metro lines covered under the revised schedule
Pink Line (Line 7)
The Pink Line connects Majlis Park and Shiv Vihar. Metro services from the terminal stations on this corridor will begin at 6:00 am on Sunday.
Magenta Line (Line 8)
The Magenta Line runs between Krishna Park Extension and Botanical Garden, as well as the Deepali Chowk to Majlis Park section. Services on this corridor will also begin at 6:00 am.
Grey Line (Line 9)
The Grey Line, connecting Dhansa Bus Stand and Dwarka, will begin at 6:00 am to facilitate candidates traveling for the UPSC exam.
DMRC Statement on UPSC Prelims Metro Arrangements
DMRC stated that this special arrangement has been made to ensure easy and convenient travel for candidates appearing for the Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2026. The corporation further stated that the purpose of the changed metro timings is to reduce travel hassles and help students reach the exam center without delay.
Regular Sunday Timings on Other Delhi Metro Routes
DMRC clarified that metro services on all other Delhi Metro lines will continue to operate as per the normal Sunday schedule from 6:00 am.

- Special Metro timings will only be effective from May 24, 2026
