Metro Services on September 4, 2026
Due to the Janmashtami holiday, the Kolkata Metro will operate fewer services than on normal weekdays. The revised timetable will apply to the Blue, Green, and Yellow lines.
Blue Line
A total of 252 trains will run on the Blue Line on September 4, including 126 inbound and 126 outbound trains. On normal days, 272 trains run on this line. There will be no change in the timings of the first and last trains.
Green Line
A total of 212 trains will run on the Green Line, including 106 inbound and 106 outbound trains. This is a reduction from the 236 trains that run on normal days. The timings of the first and last trains will remain unchanged.
Yellow Line
On Janmashtami, 92 services will operate on the Yellow Line, including 46 arriving and 46 departing services. There will be no change in the Metro's first and last departure times on September 4th.
Purple and Orange Lines will operate as usual
Kolkata Metro has announced that services on the Purple Line and Orange Line will operate normally on September 4th. There are no service reductions on these two lines.
There is no change in Kolkata Metro timings.
The number of services on these three lines will be reduced, but there will be no change in the first and last departure times on September 4th. Therefore, passengers can use the same operating times on the affected routes.
