The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) is currently under construction on a metro project in Agra, costing approximately ₹8,000 crore. Construction work has been completed from the RBS College Metro Station to the Khandari Ramp, part of the first corridor from Sikandra to the Taj East Gate. Track laying is also progressing rapidly. The RBS College Metro Station will provide improved connectivity for commuters traveling to and from nearby areas such as Delhi Gate and Sanjay Place. Similarly, work on the SN Medical College Metro Station, Agra College Metro Station, and Raja Ki Mandi Metro Station has also reached its final stages.

Metro construction is underway on MG Road in Agra. The divider has been barricaded. During the day, increased traffic creates traffic jams. At night, the numerous Metro cranes operating at the site cause problems, forcing traffic to be halted. Vehicles are forced to take alternate routes. This makes a five-minute journey take up to half an hour.

Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation has speeded up the work of laying tracks and signaling for the metro train. There is a plan to run the metro till RBS station from October. UPMRC has also released its fare. You will be able to travel from Taj East to RBS station for Rs 30.

The pace of the Agra Metro project has now increased. Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has expanded the scope of elevated track construction on MG Road and has started barricading from Diwani Chauraha to Bhagwan Talkies Chauraha. This entire part connects to National Highway-19, where the metro track will be connected. The target has been set to complete the construction work in this part in the next one and a half years.

There has been progress in the Agra Metro Phase 1 project, as Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has launched the first set of 2 U-girders for the construction of Line 2. The line stretches for 15.09 km, connecting Agra Cantonment – ​​Kalindi Vihar via 14 elevated stations.

Due to rain, the water level of Yamuna has increased in Agra, UP. The water level has increased so much that the work of Agra Metro has also been affected. Amar Ujala newspaper report tells that on one hand the work of shifting the high tension line has stopped, on the other hand the metro employees have also removed their machines. Due to this, the work of metro may get delayed by 4-5 months.

Work on the second corridor of Agra Metro is going on at a fast pace. This line will pass through MG Road. At present, the work of erecting pillars on this route is going on day and night. The Agra Metro administration claims that soon elevated tracks i.e. tracks for the metro will be installed on these pillars. If everything goes on time, then the metro will start running on MG Road by the end of 2026.

The second corridor of Agra Metro includes stations like ISBT, Gurdwara Guru Ka Tal and Sikandra. A total of 29 stations are being built on two corridors in the entire project, with a total length of 29.65 km. The detailed plan of the metro project was submitted to the state government in June 2014, but it was approved by the central government in February 2019.

The Agra Metro project successfully placed the first pier cap in the ISBT-Sikandara section of Corridor 1. The work was carried out by Seagull India under the guidance of UPMRC under package AGCC-05. The corridor has a 14.25 km elevated route from Sikandara to Taj East Gate, with 14 stations.

UPSSF was till now deployed in the security system of Agra Metro but from today the responsibility of security of Agra Court premises has also been officially handed over to UPSSF. Today, after taking charge, UPSSF jawans patrolled the entire court premises and inspected every corner of the court. 102 UPSSF jawans have been deployed in Agra Court premises who will now handle the entire security system which includes 100 male and 2 female personnel.
