The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has planned to use artificial intelligence (AI) and drones to monitor the safety of concrete structures, including bridges and pillars. Drones equipped with high-resolution camera equipment will collect data on structural conditions. The AI tools will analyse the data to detect problems such as cracks, deterioration or honeycomb patterns in the concrete.

The current fare is Rs 60, and the base fare will increase to around Rs 15. At the same time, the maximum fare will be around Rs 85.

◷ 2025-01-02 | ☍Money ControlBangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced extended metro services on Purple and Green lines on New Year's Eve. On January 1, 2024, the last metro will leave from all terminal stations at 2:00 am, while the last train from Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Metro Station (Majestic) will leave at 2:40 am. From 11:00 pm on December 31 till the extended service ends, trains will be available every 10 minutes. However, to manage the crowd at MG Road metro station, it will be closed for entry and exit after 11:00 pm. For the convenience of passengers, passengers departing from Trinity or Cubbon Park metro stations can buy paper tickets for the return journey for Rs 50. These tickets will be available in advance at all metro stations from 8:00 am on December 31, 2024. Also, regular QR code tickets and smart cards will also be valid for travel from these stations.
◷ 2024-12-30 | ☍Hindustan timesNamma Metro plans to request the government to hike ticket prices by 15%. If approved, the new fares could start by January 2025. Currently, ticket prices range from Rs 10 to Rs 60. If the hike is approved, the minimum fare will be Rs 15 and the maximum fare will be Rs 75.

This 37 km long corridor will cost around ₹28,405 crore. It will include 22.14 km of elevated tracks with 17 stations and 14.45 km of underground tracks with 11 stations.
◷ 2024-12-10 | ☍Financial ExpressThe Karnataka Cabinet on Friday (December 6) approved Phase 3A of the Red Line of the Bengaluru Metro. The Phase 3A line will start from an elevated section at Sarjapur and integrate with the Blue Line (Central Silk Board-Kempegowda International Airport) at Iblur. It will go underground after reaching Koramangala. The Phase 3A line will be 14.5 km underground, while the 22.1 km stretch will be an elevated corridor with 17 stations. The project will connect the IT hub in east Bengaluru to the northern areas.

◷ 2024-12-06 | ☍Hindustan timesBMRCL has announced that Bengaluru Metro services will start earlier on Sunday, 8 December 2024, for the Karnataka Public Service Commission exams for Panchayat Development Officers. Trains from all four terminals—Madavara, Silk Institute, Challaghatta and Whitefield (Kadugodi)—will start at 5:30 am instead of 7:00 am. The first train in all directions from Nadaprabhu Kempegowda station, Majestic, will also start at 5:30 am. Between 5:30 am and 7:00 am, trains will run every 30 minutes. After 7:00 am, the metro will follow its regular schedule.

The line will be 19.15 km long from RV Road to Bommasandra and will have 16 stations. Major stops include Jayadeva Hospital, BTM Layout, Silk Board Junction and Electronics City. The first phase of the Yellow Line will have three trains, which will run every 30 minutes. The first train will arrive in December and the second in January. By August 2025, 15 of the 36 trains will be six-coach trains.

This milestone is part of the Pink Line (Reach-6) under Phase-2, which spans 13.76 km from Kalena Agrahara in the south to Nagawara in the north. The Pink Line will feature a total of 12 underground stations, with construction of the stations now approximately 90 per cent complete.

The 3.36 km long flyover starts from Ragigudda metro station and goes up to Silk Board junction under the Yellow Line, which is scheduled to be opened this December. The flyover will have a total of five ramps. Ramps A, B and C are ready while work on ramps D and E is still underway and is scheduled to be completed in May 2025.

Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) officials told News18 that the 19-km line will be officially commissioned in the next six months. This will be the first metro train in India to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to monitor the health of trains, tracks and signaling system.
