Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma held a meeting with officials of Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) Limited regarding the new phase of metro and directed to prepare a fresh detailed project report (DPR) for the metro extension from Sitapura to Ambabadi and Vidyadhar Nagar.
Yesterday, Jaipur Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot laid the foundation stone of Metro Phase-1C at Badi Chowpar in Jaipur at 12 noon. Apart from this, the underpass signal free project built near Lakshmi Mandir intersection on Tonk Road at a cost of Rs 175 crore, underground parking phase-2 built in Ramniwas Bagh and Sylvan Biodiversity Park on Agra Road were also dedicated to the public.
Yesterday, Jaipur Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot laid the foundation stone of Metro Phase-1C at Badi Chowpar in Jaipur at 12 noon. The length of the metro rail track to be built between Badi Chaupar and Transport Nagar will be 2.85 kilometers. First, Ramganj and second Transport Nagar station will be elevated, apart from this, Sylvan Park has been built on about 113 hectares of land on Agra Road in Jaipur. The first phase of this project was completed in 2015 and the second phase in 2018. More than 10 thousand trees and plants have been planted in it. In future it will be developed like the Central Park of Jaipur.
Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) on Thursday cancelled the civil construction tender for Jaipur Metro Phase 1C and Phase 1D projects’ elevated sections after the rate quoted by Sam (India) Builtwell, the only technically qualified bidder, was deemed too high.

Jaipur city of Rajasthan is preparing to start construction of Phase-3 Metro in September this year. According to The Pink City Post, metro lines will be built from Sitapura to Ambabadi under this new extension. Additional routes including Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar and Mansarovar to Ajmer Road are under development – covering a total distance of 55.2 km. Reportedly, the project will also see a total investment of Rs 5,784 crore.
Prior to Assembly election, chief minister Ashok Gehlot has expressed his desire to initiate the expansion of the metro corridor. During his previous term, Gehlot introduced Metro phase-1 which was extended from Mansarovar to Badi Chaupar. This time, he has announced the plan to lay the foundation stone in September for the extension of the existing corridor. This extension will encompass the (Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar) phase I (C) route and the (Mansarovar to Ajmer road) phase I (D) route.
The Jaipur Metro is gearing up for a major expansion with the commencement of the extension work. In a significant development, bids have been invited for the civil work of the metro link from Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar (Phase 1C) and from Mansarovar to Ajmer Road intersection (Phase 1D).
The DPR for the expansion of Jaipur Metro Project has been prepared. The government can announce the expansion of Phase 1 in the budget. The government has also made up its mind regarding the project. Consider the expansion plan, there is a preparation to connect Delhi Road with Ajmer Road by Metro train. The operation of Jaipur Metro has also been changed with the extension of the night curfew due to Corona in the capital. Now Jaipur Metro will be able to meet till 7.30 pm. Jaipur Metro Operations will operate from 6.20 am to 7.30 pm. The last train from Badi Chaupar to Mansarovar will run at 7.30 pm and the last train from Mansarovar to Badi Chaupar will also run at 7.30 pm.
After preparing a Detailed Project Report for the Jaipur metro phase-II proposed project among Sitapura-Ambabari, the state govt will be taken discussions to start the project. On June 24, the urban development and housing minister has called a meeting.
