Tatya Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) working in Kanpur completed the construction of down line tunnel on Wednesday afternoon from Makravatganj to Chunniganj underground metro station of Kanpur, 420 meters away. Nana TBM has already completed this work. Thus, the construction of tunnel for up and down metro line from Makrawatganj to Nayaganj underground metro station has been completed.

In this four kilometer long underground route in Kanpur, the construction of Chuniganj, Naveen Market, Bada Chauraha and Nayaganj underground metro stations is also in the final stage. The metro will enter the underground section from Makrawatganj only. UPMRC MD said that after Motijheel, the metro train going to Naubasta will enter the underground section through this tunnel. On the other hand, the construction of metro tunnels from Kanpur Central to Nayaganj underground metro station will also be completed next month.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions for expansion of Lucknow Metro for the needs of the capital Lucknow. Regarding Kanpur and Agra, Chief Minister Yogi said that work is going on on two new phases of metro each in Kanpur and Agra. There is no shortage of money for any project of public interest. The funds should be released on time.

The third and fourth Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) of Kanpur Metro are engaged in tunneling work in the Kanpur Central-Transport Nagar underground section under Corridor-1 (IIT-Naubasta). The Kanpur Metro Rail project has been named 'Azad' and 'Vidyarthi' after freedom fighters Chandrashekhar 'Azad' and Ganesh Shankar 'Vidyarthi'.

About 1,250 meter long tunnel is being built in the section of Kanpur Metro from Kanpur Central to Nayaganj. The third TBM 'Azad' for tunneling on the 'Up-Line' has already completed its initial mission, while the fourth TBM 'Vidyarthi' has been launched and is scheduled to be launched soon for tunneling on the 'Down Line'. Preparations are going on.

The Nana Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) achieved its third breakthrough on Sunday in the approximately 4 km long underground section between Chuniganj to Nayaganj in the Kanpur Metro. On Sunday, Nana TBM reached Bada Chauraha, completing the construction of about 510 meter upline tunnel from Naveen Market to Bada Chauraha. Nana TBM was launched on 15 July 2023 from Naveen Market Metro Station.

The development work on the Baradevi-Naubasta elevated section of the Kanpur Metro project is progressing rapidly. The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) is currently working on installing a total of 348 U-girders, which are being erected on the 5 km long stretch. As per the latest update, the authority has recently achieved a significant milestone, completing the installation of 100 U-girders on the route.

First L-beam casting was started on Baradevi-Naubasta elevated section under Kanpur Metro Rail Project. The casting process began at the under-construction Baradevi Metro Station during the night of July 24, 2023 and July 25, 2023. The Baradevi Metro station will require a total of three L-beams, each measuring 81.25 metres, which will serve as longitudinal, L-shaped beams for the installation of pie-girders during station construction.

Under the 4 km (approx) long Chunniganj-Nayaganj underground section of the Kanpur Metro Rail project, ‘Tatya’ Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) achieved its second breakthrough on Monday. With this, after Bada Chauraha to Nayaganj, now both the tunnels from Chunniganj to Naveen Market have also been completed. On Monday, Tatya TBM reached Naveen Market, completing the construction of about 728 metres of down-line tunnel from Chunniganj. Thanks to the efficient execution by the team of UPMRC, the work was completed in less than three and half months.

The coaches of the fifth train of Kanpur Metro reached the depot on the morning of Republic Day. At present, three more train coaches are to come for the primary corridor. The coaches of the Kanpur Metro train first arrived in the city on September 29. Since then four more trains have arrived. Eight trains have been mentioned in the primary corridor. However, after the initial rush, the number of passengers has come down. At present, the number of passengers is from 12 to 13 thousand daily.

Uttar Pradesh News Desk Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSA) has refused to give land to the UP Metro Rail Corporation. Vice-Chancellor Dr. DR Singh has written a letter to the government after refusing to give the land in the meeting of the Board of Management. Metro had asked the university administration for 14 hectares permanently and 3.98 hectares temporarily.

Metro is currently to be run between IIT and Motijheel in the primary corridor. The fare for this distance will be Rs 30 per passenger. Later, when the metro will run till Naubasta, then the fare from IIT to Naubasta will have to be paid 60 rupees. Similarly, the fare from CSA to Barra Eight will also be Rs 30.

Bombardier Transport India has bagged a contract for the supply of 67 trains of three cars each for Kanpur and Agra Metro projects, according to an official statement. The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has awarded the contract for supply, testing and commissioning of 201 cars along with train control and signalling system to Bombardier Transport India Pvt. Limited.
