A metro train traveling from Munshi Pulia to the airport in Lucknow experienced a sudden brake failure. This caused panic among the passengers on board. Upon receiving the information, the metro's technical team arrived at the scene and, after about 15 minutes of effort, manually released the jammed brakes. According to metro officials, the brakes jammed due to a technical problem. The metro service was disrupted for 15 minutes as a result. During this time, other metro services were diverted to different platforms.
◷ 2025-12-30 | ☍JagranThe Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has announced an ambitious plan to develop a massive 1,575-kilometer metro network across Uttar Pradesh by 2047. UPMRC Managing Director Sushil Kumar unveiled the comprehensive blueprint during the "Developed Uttar Pradesh for Developed India @ 2047" seminar. The initial phase will focus on expanding the metro system in the state's three established metro cities, with 225 kilometers planned for Lucknow, 200 kilometers for Kanpur, and 100 kilometers for Agra. Additionally, the plan proposes a 150-kilometer network each in Noida-Greater Noida, Varanasi, and Prayagraj. 50 kilometers of metro network are planned in key districts such as Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, and Meerut. Approximately 790 kilometers of this metro infrastructure is targeted to be completed by 2035. Emphasizing the project's financial viability, Kumar stated that the state government's annual contribution for the initial 525 kilometers of expansion will be ₹1,040 crore.

◷ 2025-08-20 | ☍Metro Rail NewsThe Union Cabinet on Tuesday approved Phase 1-B of the Lucknow Metro Rail Project. In total, the corridor will have 12 stations covering a distance of 11.165 km. Upon completion, the total network in the city will be 34 km. Phase 1B of the Lucknow Metro Project will add around 11.165 km of new metro lines, significantly improving public transport in the oldest and most densely populated areas of the city that currently lack efficient connectivity.

There will be seven underground and five elevated stations in the corridor. On Wednesday, metro engineers reached the Municipal Corporation. Where they took information about sewer, water pipeline, drains etc. and shared the design of the metro with the corporation officials. In the next two to three days, the corporation and metro teams will start a joint survey.

Till now it used to run from 6 am to 10 pm only. This change will provide relief to those who travel till late night.
