The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has decided to connect the proposed 'Metro 12' line between Kalyan-Dombivli-Taloja with the Belapur-Pendhar line in Navi Mumbai. Therefore, passengers will have an easy and fast option to travel between Kalyan and Belapur in the coming years.

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), the nodal agency for the Navi Mumbai Metro (NMM) project, has approved implementation of NMM Line 2, 3 and 4 with modified mode of transport viz MetroNeo in place of standard gauge Metro.
