Delhi Metro shares Holi festive timings for commuters
Delhi Metro Holi 2026 Special Timings for Commuters
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued a special travel advisory for commuters on the occasion of Holi. In a post shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the DMRC stated that metro train services will resume later than usual on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. According to the update, metro services on all lines will begin at 2:30 pm from terminal stations. No train services will be available during the morning hours on Holi.
The DMRC stated that the revised timings were established to allow passengers and metro staff to celebrate the festival safely. After 2:30 pm, metro services will operate as per the regular schedule for the rest of the day. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and check official updates before leaving for metro stations.
Why The Timing Was Changed
Holi is celebrated on a grand scale across Delhi with colours, mingling and celebrations in the morning. In view of festivals and low travel demand during morning hours, DMRC has changed the schedule for some time for smooth operations. Such changes are usually announced in advance through official communication channels to avoid inconvenience to passengers.
