With a new update, Delhi Metro passengers will now be able to buy mobile-based QR tickets on Amazon Pay with DMRC. Digital QR tickets can be booked through Amazon Pay. The introduction of this facility will help passengers make quick and contactless payments without any hassle.
According to Delhi Metro Managing Director Vikas Kumar, AI (Artificial intelligence) will soon be used in Delhi Metro, crowd management and maintenance of trains will be done through artificial intelligence (AI) on all corridors of Delhi Metro's Phase-4. Trains with three and six coaches will operate on these corridors and the number of coaches will be increased or decreased as per the need.
Part of the Delhi Metro's fourth phase is set to open in August, including the 03-km stretch from Janakpuri West to RK Ashram Marg. Civil work for this section has been completed, paving the way for final safety certification and inspection before the corridor becomes operational. According to a Times Now report, the Janakpuri West portion of the new corridor will be elevated, while the Krishna Park Extension portion will be at ground level. Work on all corridors under Phase 4 is progressing at a rapid pace and the project is expected to be fully operational by March 2026.

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved two new corridors of Delhi Metro Phase-IV project, comprising (i) 12.377 km from Indralok to Indraprastha and (ii) 8.385 km from Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block. Consists of two volumes. The total project cost of these two corridors of Delhi Metro Phase-IV project is Rs 8,399 crore, which will be financed by the Government of India, Government of Delhi and international funding agencies.
Among the two sanctioned corridors of Delhi Metro, the Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block corridor will be completely elevated and will have a total of eight stations. The Indralok-Indraprastha corridor will have 11.349 km long underground lines and 1.028 km long elevated lines, with a total of 10 stations. Alstom, the global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, on Sunday began production of its world-class Metropolis trainsets for Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Phase IV. The order, signed in November 2022, aims to deliver 52 train sets, each with six coaches. The project is designed to complement three different lines of DMRC, with two lines being an extension of the existing Line 7 and Line 8, and the new Gold Line 10 connecting Aerocity to Tughlakabad, covering a total distance of 64.67 km. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has created a new Operational Control (OCC) room to monitor and control the operational service on the upcoming corridor of Metro Phase 4. Metro Managing Director Dr. Vikas Kumar inaugurated this new OCC on Wednesday. Apart from three corridors of Metro Phase 4, this OCC will also control operations on the Red Line (Rithala to New Bus Stand, Ghaziabad) and Yellow Line (Gurugram to Samaypur Badli) corridors. 42 percent work of Metro Phase 4 completed. In Delhi Metro Phase 4, a total of 65.20 km three corridors are being constructed - Maujpur to Majlis Park, Aerocity to Tughlakabad and Janakpuri West to RK Ashram.
More than 42% work of the three corridors of Delhi Metro has been completed. Most of the work, more than 44% of the 12 kilometer corridor from Maujpur to Majlis Park has been completed. The target has been set to complete all three corridors by 2026. However, the first section of Metro Phase 4 will be opened on Janakpuri West to RK Ashram corridor, a stretch of about three kilometers which will be between Janakpuri West to Krishna Park. This section is targeted to be opened by July 2024. Operation on five corridors will be monitored. For Metro Phase 4, Yellow and Red Lines will be operated from the new OCC built on the third floor of Metro Bhawan. Till now it was operated from the OCC built on the sixth floor.

DMRC had filed its curative petition in August 2022 challenging the dismissal of its petition by the apex court in September 2021. Recently Delhi Metro had set up an interactive museum exhibition to give passengers the experience of tourist train 'driving'.
