About Bori Wildlife Sanctuary
Bori Wildlife Sanctuary is the oldest forest reserve in the country located in the northern foothills of the Satpura range of Madhya Pradesh. The sanctuary was established in the year 1977 which houses about 50 mammals and 30 species of reptiles. The sanctuary is the lowest area of the Tiger Reserve and consists of grasslands and mixed deciduous forests, making it an ideal habitat for large mammals such as sambar, gaur, nilgai, chital and their predators such as tiger, leopard and wild dog.

Bori Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over an estimated area of 518 sq. km.

- Many flying squirrels can be seen here.
- Trees commonly found in the park include teak, sal, tendu, mahua, bel, bamboo, grass, lantana, medicinal plants, mango trees as well as some endemic ferns.
- There are many animals in the park, including tigers, leopards and striped hyenas.
- The most commonly seen animals are Indian bison, chital, small Indian civet and golden jackal.
