Taj Museum, Agra

Taj Museum was conceptualized in 1906 and was established at the instance of Lord Curzon, who was the Viceroy of India 1899 to 1905. Located at Taj Mahal Dhram Puri, Forest colony the museum is placed in two hexagonal rooms on the west side of the main entrance gateway to the splendid Taj Mahal. The double-storied building has a quadrangle projection outside. The museum houses the wonderful exhibits of Taj which are captivating and include old plans of the Taj Mahal, creative samples of the stone used in inlay work, old photographs of the Taj Mahal, some colored sketches, Farmans and interesting specimen of stones used in construction of the Taj Mahal.

Mehtab Bagh, Agra

This is a magnificently designed Charbagh complex in Agra,is located north of Taj Mahal , Dharmapuri, in Forest Colony . This sprawling complex is a unique retreat of natural beauty and one of the most scenic spots in Agra. It lies on the opposite side of the Yamuna River, in the flood plains and you can have a spectacular view of the gigantic Agra Fort. The garden complex is square in shape and measures nearly 300 by 300 meters and is perfectly aligned with the Taj Mahal.

Agra Red Fort, Agra

This gigantic 16th-century Mughal monument also known as the Red Fort of Agra is located near the gardens of the Taj Mahal in Rakabganj. Agra Fort is a sprawling historical fort and it was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638. The massive Agra fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site is known for its architectural creativity and brilliant design, and Diwan-e-Aam and Diwan-e-Khas, Moti Masjid, and Sheesh Mahal are worth seeing. The famous Agra Fort is built on a sprawling 2.5-kilometer radius and is constructed in red sandstone.

Akbar Tomb, Agra

Akbar's tomb is another brilliant Mughal architectural masterpiece. Built in 1605 and 1613, by his son Jahangir. This final resting place of the great Mughal Emperor spans over an area of 119 acres in Sikandra, in the suburbs of Agra, 8 km west of the city core. The tomb of the Mughal emperor Akbar is an important example of Mughal architectural brilliance. The gold, beautiful jewels, silver ornaments and carpets were plundered from Akbar's tomb constructed in sandstone and white marble.

Fatehpur Sikri Fort Complex, Agra

The ruined city of Fatehpur Sikri is located in Buland Gate, Dadupura, near Agra.This UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts of extraordinary architectural ingenuity, brilliant design and exhibits a unique blend of Hindu and Muslim creative style of design. The sprawling complex with seven gates and a boundary wall of 6 km exhibits unique decorations and embellishments .
