Victoria Memorial, Kolkata
Scattered in an area of approximately 56 acres, the place is a must visit for all the tourists coming to Kolkata. It houses nearly 22 well-manicured gardens, around 3,800 paintings of diverse artists and 28,394 artefacts. Queen Victoria’s statue is placed within the memorial and the architecture of museum inside is simply marvellous. It is a romantic place to be and located at Queen’s Way, Kolkata. It was constructed between 1906 to 1921 in the fond memory of Queen Victoria. It is made in pure white marble and building has tall pillars, towers in the corners and it is dome shaped. Dakshineswar Kali Temple, Kolkata
Situated at Dakshineswar on the eastern bank of River Hoogly in the city of Kolkata, this popular shrine is a famous pilgrim spot devoted to Goddess Kali. Kumortuli, Kolkata
If you want to explore the cultural limits of Kolkata then Kumartuli is a place for it. It is the lane where the skilled potters create the clay idols of gods and goddesses. These sculptors are into this profession from several generations and this potter locality is more then 200+ old. A group of potters created this and now more then 155 families of potters reside here. During Durga Puja several potters toil hard in nearly 560 workshops to make the idols of Goddess Durga during the festival, Durga Puja. These lanes are very narrow but the artisans staying here have set up their work shops for making up of the idols. These potters are magicians and from straws, bamboo sticks, rope the expert potters convert the formless heap of clay into an attractive and breathtaking attractive Goddess Durga idol.

Babu Ghat, Kolkata
Babu Ghat is one of the oldest ghat that was constructed during the British Raj at Strand Road on the edge of the River Hooghly. The landing compartment of the ghat is lofty colonial structure. This Doric-Greek type pavilion with gigantic pillars attracts tourists in huge number. The priests and vendors have intruded the ghat and the stairs that take you to the river are decaying fast. College Street, Kolkata
An extended College Street, which is approximately a million square feet long is located in the Central Kolkata. It is one of the largest bazaar in the world of second hand books. South Park Cemetery, Kolkata
A heritage site, South Park Cemetery is located at Park street, just opposite the Assembly Of God Church. It is an 18th century cemetery. Managed by the Archaeological Survey Of India, the eye-catching tombs attract tourists in huge number. The tomb structural design is a mix up of Indo Saracenic and Gothic style. Some of them are mystifying whereas few others have comforting and peaceful vibes. Marble Palace, Kolkata
Marble Palace is an enormous construction and is situated in a tiny street of Muktaram Babu Street in the northern part of Kolkata. It was the dwelling of Raja Rajendra Miullick. The façade of this individually owned property is neoclassical in style and even today is occupied by the descendants of Rajendra Mullick and is a famous monument in Kolkata. Sprawling lawns with fountains and a zoo, the mansion also has galleries with portraits, statues, chandeliers mirrors and paintings that are created by Dutch, English and Italian artists. For entry a permit is needed from the West Bengal Tourism but a part of the palace that is in use by the family cannot be accessed. Photography is not permitted within the palace.

Birla Planetarium, Kolkata
The Birla Planetarium situated at Jawaharlal Nehru road, Kolkata in the state of West Bengal is a popular building which is quite similar to the Buddhist Stupa of Sanchi.
