About Badi Jheel Lake

Badi Lake The lake has a rich history that dates back to the time of Raja Bhoj, a medieval king known for his contributions to the city of Bhopal. Bhojtal was built by the Paramara king Bhoj during his tenure as the king of Malwa (1005–1055). The lake was constructed by them as an important water reservoir for the area. Over the centuries, it has undergone many developments and modifications, and remains an important source of water supply for the city. It has an earthen dam which adds to its attraction. The lake is a tranquil and beautiful place for boating, picnicking and enjoying the views.
