Van Vihar is a national park located near Shyamla Hills near Upper Lake in Bhopal, which houses bird interpretation center and zoo. Spread over an area of about 4.45 km, the park comprises of some huge wire enclosures where carnivores like tigers, lions, leopards, bears and hyenas live according to the modern principles of zoo management. In contrast, herbivorous animals i.e. elephants, kangaroos, zebras, giraffes are kept in separate enclosures inside the park. The animals here are kept closest to their natural habitat, making it a haven for nature loving people.
