About Moti Masjid
Moti Masjid is the largest mosque in Central India and is also very old. This famous mosque was built by Sikandar Jahan Begum of Bhopal, daughter of Qudusiya Begum, in the year 1860. The architecture of Moti Masjid is very similar to that of Jama Masjid in Delhi, although it is relatively smaller in size. The Moti Masjid is surrounded by two beautiful dark red towers or domes with gold spikes.
Architecture of Moti Masjid
The style of architecture of the mosque is mostly Islamic. Sandstone is used on all three decorated gates, verandahs, chhatras, courtyard floors and slender minarets. The main hall made of white marble has a decorated archway.
