About Taj Museum
The Taj Museum is a popular place to visit among travelers as it is home to facts and history related to the magnificent monument. The museum is located within the confines of the Taj Mahal which was established in 1982. This museum provides an amazing opportunity to have a closer look at the blueprints, art and artifacts used in the construction of the world class monument. The main hall displays the paintings of Shah Jahan and his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal on ivory, in decorative wooden frames, replicas of coins minted in Agra.
The museum is divided into three galleries:-
- The first gallery has plans and color drawings showing the main features of Tai Mahal's architecture.
- The second gallery displays some jade and porcelain objects such as a jade-carved quaran stand, a beautiful ornamental spouted vase carving of jade, stone-mounted mirrors, bowls and celadon pots.
- The third gallery displays important royal decrees and documents, famous calligraphic specimens of the time, two paintings of the Taj Mahal by British artist Daniel in the year 1795 AD.

It is a two-storey building with a quadrangular projection outside and is built on a raised platform. It is a large museum with two floors and consists of three galleries along with a main hall.

- The museum houses 121 antiquities, classified as specimens of Mughal miniature paintings, manuscripts, government decrees and calligraphy.
- The exhibition also includes illustrations from the famous Persian epic Shahnama of Firdausi, a manuscript of the Chahal Majlis.
- The collection also includes weapons, utensils, plans and drawings of the Taj complex, paintings, specimen inlay works and marble pillars.
- Photography is not allowed inside the museum.
- In the main hall tourists can see the paintings of Shah Jahan and his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal.
- The museum exhibits everything related to the construction of the Taj Mahal.
