Kamakhya Temple, Guwahati
It is one of the 108 Shaktipeeths and an important seat of tarantism in India. It is dedicated to goddess Kamakhya who is believed to symbolize creativity, power and fertility. Located on the Nilachal Hill, Guwahati this is the only temple in the country that celebrates the essence of womanhood.
The temple consists of four chambers the garbhagrihya and three mandapas. During Ambubachi Mela held in June every year, it attracts thousands of pilgrims from all around the world. It is believed that during this stretch the goddess enters her annual menstrual cycle.

Umananda Temple, Guwahati
