Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is at a distance of about 48km from Guwahati the sanctuary lies nestled in the grasslands along the southern bank of the Brahmaputra in the Morigaon district. Its compelling rich biodiversity attracts visitors and nature admirers from all over the globe. It is the abode to the largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses in the world and other animals like leopard, wild boar, barking deer, wild buffalo, etc, 2000 migratory birds and various reptiles. Primary attractions include Haduk Hanging Bridge, Garanga Beel Pond, Elephant Rides, and Jeep Safaris.
Kaziranga National Park, Guwahati
Located at the edge of eastern Himalayan biodiversity hotspot Golaghat and Nagaon, the park spreads along the flood plains of the Brahmaputra river. Unmeddled with human activity all the hues of nature can be witnessed here. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and is home to 2/3rd of the world's population Indian one-horned rhinoceros.
