About Borra Caves
Borra Caves are located in the Ananthagiri hills of Araku Valley in Visakhapatnam district. The caves were discovered by William King George of the Geological Survey of India in the year 1807. The Bora Caves situated at an altitude of about 705 meters are considered to be the largest in the country and are basically caustic limestone formations.
Some of the grand stalactite and stalagmite formations that can be seen here include Lord Shiva and his consort Goddess Parvati, a mother and her children, a crocodile, a human brain, and a tiger. Padampura Gardens and Katika Waterfalls are other destinations in the vicinity of Bora Caves.
