About Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary
Pabitora Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary in Morigaon district surrounded by three reserve forests near the Nagaon district border. The sanctuary was established in 1987 and is spread over 38.85 km2 providing grassland and wetland habitat for Indian rhinoceros. The sanctuary is not only home to one-horned rhinoceros, wild bulls, deer etc. but is home to 2000 migratory birds and various reptiles. The terrain of Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is a breathtaking experience for a traveler or a nature lover.

Although the total area of Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is around 38.8 sq. km. but the effective rhino habitat is concentrated to the core area of around 16 sq. km.

- Pobitora is mainly famous for its great Indian one-horned rhinoceros.
- Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary now has about 93 rhinos, which is an increase of ten percent in the last six years. These 93 rhinos survive in only 16 sq km area of the park.
- Primary attractions include Haduk Hanging Bridge, Garanga Beel Talab, Elephant ride and Jeep Safari.
