About Kaziranga National Park
Kaziranga National Park is located in the north eastern part of the country in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of the state of Assam. First established as a reserve forest in 1908, an area of ​​430 square kilometers was included in the park's area in 1974 and received the title of Kaziranga National Park. Two-thirds of the world's great one-horned rhinoceros live in the park.
Tiger density is highest in the protected areas of Kaziranga, which was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006. The park is home to a large breeding population of elephants, bison and swamp deer.

The 430 square kilometre park occupies a vast area of expansive grassland and tropical evergreen forest along the southern bank of the Brahmaputra.

- Much of the park is marshy, with patches of reeds, elephant grass, scattered trees and large pools.
- Kaziranga was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.
- Kaziranga has been recognized as an Important Bird Area by BirdLife International for the conservation of bird species.
- The existence of the park is due to the conservation efforts of Mary Curzon, the then Viceroy of India and her husband Lord Curzon.
- It is home to two of the world's largest snakes, the reticulated python and the rock python, as well as the world's longest venomous snake, the King Cobra.
- As per the latest rhino census, Kaziranga has a rhino population of 2,413.
