About Albert Hall Museum
Albert Hall Museum It is located in the Ram Niwas Garden of Jaipur, which is the oldest museum in Rajasthan. Standing as a perfect icon of Indo-Saracenic architecture, the museum is named after the Prince of Whale, Albert Edward. The foundation of the building was laid on 6 February 1876 during the visit of Prince of Wales, Albert Edward to Jaipur and it was completed in 1887 by the architect Samuel Swinton Jacob, the then director of Jaipur PWD.
This museum is famous for its architectural beauty from the time of its inauguration. Many frescoes, Persian paintings and others in the corridors of the museum.
Architecture of Albert Hall Museum
It was designed by Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob 1841-1917 in the Indo-Saracenic style. His fascination with the details of Rajput architecture resulted in his 'Jeypore Portfolio of Architectural Details' 1890.
