About Kerala Folklore Museum

Kerala Folklore Museum is a cultural center to promote and preserve the culture and heritage of South India. The museum was promoted by Mrs and Mr George Thaliath which was opened in 2009, this museum is the only museum that has been built with exquisite architecture in the whole of Kerala.

1. This place is full of antiquities and artifacts showcasing the magical, mystical, South Indian culture and folklore. It has had the privilege of hosting Prince Charles in 2013. A visit to this museum is highly recommended if you are interested in history, art and culture.
2. Beautiful artefacts and jewelery made of wood and bronze will surely mesmerize you. You can also find rare manuscripts of medicines and astrological mysteries here.
3. Also, you will be surprised to know that many stone age utensils have been preserved very carefully here. In short, it is considered a treasure trove that showcases the rich heritage of Kerala. You can see any traditional art and dance style here.
4. With unparalleled craftsmanship and manpower over seven years by 62 carpenters and skilled workers, the museum finally regained its charm.
5. You will surely make your jaw drop seeing the amazing structure of the entrance. It is meticulously carved from the remains of a 16th century temple in Tamil Nadu and wood carvings collected from all over Kerala.
