About Okhla Bird Sanctuary

The most popular is the Okhla Bird Sanctuary located at the Okhla Barrage over the pristine Yamuna River. The sanctuary is known to be a haven for over 300 bird species, especially waterfowl. The Government of Uttar Pradesh notified it as a sanctuary in the year 1990. The sanctuary is abundant in many tall trees and wetland development which covers the entire sanctuary in attractive green canopy.
