Dashashwamedh Ghat, Varanasi

Dashashwamedh Ghat is one of the oldest, grandest and most important Ghats of Kashi. This ghat is very close to the famous Vishwanath temple. This ghat is famous for Agni Puja, where Sandhya Aarti is organized by a group of priests who are dedicated to Lord Shiva, River Ganges, Surya, Agni as well as the entire universe. The ghats are full of colorful flower sellers, boat owners, sadhus, guides and masseurs. This ghat has been a religious place for devotees and pilgrims and tourists over the years.

1. Early in the morning, you can witness many rituals and activities at the ghat.
2. Pilgrims come here to perform a variety of rituals and religious activities.
3. The Ganga Aarti starts soon after sunset and lasts for about 45 minutes.
4. Some devotees come here every morning to pay homage to their Lord after taking a holy bath in the Ganges water.
5. Historically this ghat is considered to be the most favorite and main ghat among Hindu devotees.
6. During the festival, you can see a large number of Hindu devotees here.
