About Ramnagar Fort
Ramnagar Fort is located in Ramnagar of Varanasi. The fort was built by Kashi Naresh, the king of Varanasi in the 18th century. The fort is a presidential palace for the present king of Varanasi, Anant Narayan Singh. The fort has a beautiful garden, intricately carved pavilions, but only a part of the fort is open for public viewing. There is a huge Durbar Hall and a reception hall. The majestic building is situated on the eastern bank of the river Ganges, just opposite the Tulsi Ghat.
The fort houses the ancient Ved Vyas Temple, and the famous Dakshin Mukhi Hanuman Temple, a museum known as Saraswati Bhavan, and a large astronomical clock. Raja's private residential area is not open to tourists.

- The fort has a rare clock, which shows time, day, week, month and astronomical details about the positions of planets, moon and sun.
- Ramnagar Fort is famous in the country for the ten-day long Ramlila. People come from far and wide to see the Ravana burning here.
- A famous festival called Raj Mangal is also celebrated in the month of Falgun in Ramnagar Fort. Apart from this, there is also a parade of boats, dancing and singing.
- The Ramnagar Fort has a temple and a museum within the grounds and the temple is dedicated to Ved Vyasa, who wrote the great Indian epic Mahabharata.
- Only some part of the fort is open to the public as the remaining part is the residential area of the Maharaja.
- The museum also houses ornamental chairs, religious manuscripts and royal costumes.

By Bus:- The nearest bus stand to Ramnagar Fort is Tengra More Bus Stop, all the buses stop here, you can also easily reach the fort by bus.
