About Durga Temple
Durga Temple is located in the city of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is a Hindu temple and is dedicated to Goddess Durga. The temple is also known as Durga Kund and Lal Mandir. The Durga temple was built by the Queen of Bengal, Rani Bhavani in the 18th century.
On the right side of the temple there is an attractive pond known as Durga Kund which really adds to the beauty of the temple. The atmosphere of the temple is calm and gives a spiritual feel to the mind of the people.
Architecture of Durga Temple
The Durga temple was built in red stones and the North Indian Nagara style of architecture is very grand and divine. The temple is painted red with ocher colour. Many carvings and engraved stones can be found inside the temple. It is believed that the main idol of the temple, which is of Goddess Durga, manifested herself at this place, which was not created by any person.
