About Gass Forest Museum
The Gas Forest Museum is a government-run natural history museum located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. The museum was established in the year 1902 by Horace Archibald Gas, the Conservator of Forests. The museum was started with a wide collection to showcase various aspects of forestry. The building was built with red stones in the typical British Gothic style.
The museum hosts 10,000 different types of artifacts including wildlife, insects, butterflies, wooden crafts, cultural artifacts and displays of some of the weapons used in ancient times is included. The path inside is surrounded by incredibly dense vegetation.

This museum is made of red stone and built in the British Gothic style. The iron poles used in the hall were specially imported from Great Britain. The building can withstand a vertical seismic impact as it draws its strength from folding in all four corners.
