About Marudhamalai Temple
The temple is located at Maruthamalai in Coimbatore district. The presiding deity of the temple is Marudhamalai who is worshiped as Dhanduthapani. Marudhamalai temple was built by Tamil kings during 12th century AD. The temple is situated at an altitude of 600 feet on a hill called Marudha Malai. There are many water bodies around this temple like Snake Charmer's Waterfall, Maruda Theertham, some of which are known to have medicinal properties.
There is a staircase at the southern end of the temple which takes you to the Pambatti Siddhar Cave. A connecting tunnel that leads from the sanctum sanctorum of Lord Murugan to the cave of Siddhar was built by Siddhar. It is believed that this place was used to worship the Lord.

The Dravidian architecture of the temple is utterly awe-inspiring. The hill on which the temple is situated is completely covered with many medicinal herbs. The stairs of the temple are made of granite on which all the devotees climb.

- In the southern end of the temple, the Pambatti Siddhar cave is located from the Pragram staircase.
- The temple is well maintained and there is a very smooth flow of pilgrims for the darshan of Lord Muruga.
- After reaching the foothills, you have two options to go up the hill to see the temple. You can either climb up or take the bus uphill.
