The Ukkadam-Valankulam Lake is situated between Trichy Road and Sangam Bypass Road. Ukkadam Lake also known as Ukkadam Periyakulam covers an area of 1.295 sq km and has an average depth of 19 feet. The lake also receives and drains water from Selvachinthamani Lake, located upstream in the north.
Various types of birds like Purple Moorhen, Little Grebes etc come here regularly. A railway track connecting Coimbatore Junction and Podanur passes over the lake. This lake is a popular place among tourists.
