About VOC Park and Zoo

VOC Park and Zoo is located 2 km away from the city centre. The park is named after the freedom fighter V O Chidambaram Pillai. The park is maintained and managed by the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation. The zoo has thousands of animals including 335 birds, 106 mammals and 54 reptiles.

There is also a toy train for children where children can swing and there is also a fish aquarium and Jurassic Park. The lush green trees and plants all around attract children and elders, many people come here to roam in the evening.

Architecture of VOC Park and Zoo

VOC Zoo and Park Spread over 7 acres of land, this zoo is a favorite picnic spot for the locals who want to have a great time with their kids.

Interesting facts about VOC Park and Zoo

  1. The ground is used for organizing fairs and events including the annual Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations.
  2. Animals range from crocodiles, snakes to a variety of creatures and deer.
  3. There's also a nice toy train ride around the park.
  4. The amusement park also has a Jurassic Park with many models of dinosaurs amidst well-maintained gardens.
  5. The zoo houses more than 500 animals of about 30 species including birds, mammals and reptiles.

Coimbatore Junction is located at a distance of 2 km from the park, from here you can take a rickshaw to the park.

Ramnagar bus stop is 1 minute away from the park, you can go on foot.
