About Perur Pateeswarar Temple
Perur Pateshwar Temple is located at Perur in the western part of Coimbatore in the state of Tamil Nadu. This temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple was built by King Karikala Chola in the 2nd century AD. This 1,500 year old temple is considered to be one of the oldest temples in the state. The temple has several gopurams and halls, among which is the famous 'Kanaka Sabha', which houses a golden statue of Nataraja.
The pillars of the temple have carvings of various manifestations of Shiva and the ceiling has a series of stone chains. It is one of the best places to visit where people come to puja with their family.
Architecture of Perur Pateeswarar Temple
The Arulmigu Patteshwara Swamy Temple is built according to Dravidian architecture. The sanctum sanctorum of the temple consists of the idol of Lord Nataraja and several halls with pillars. The entire structure is intricately carved and has paintings on all the walls and ceilings. Various forms of Lord Shiva have been carved in the pillars in the temple.

- It is the temple of Lord Shiva and the idol worshiped is "Swayambhu Lingam".
- The temple also has Patti Vinayagar Temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha and the Arsambalavanar Shrine dedicated to Shiva.
