About Jaipur Zoo
Located near Ram Niwas Udyan in Jaipur, the Zoological Garden was built by Raja Sawai Pratap in 1868. This zoo is one of the popular tourist places in Jaipur, which is home to more than 70 species of animals, birds and reptiles.
The zoo, opened in 1877, is divided into two parts: one for mammals and the other for birds and reptiles. The main objective of the zoo is to complement the national effort in the conservation of wildlife.
Architecture of Jaipur Zoo
The zoo is spread over a total area of 35 acres. Apart from being the largest zoo, it claims to be one of the finest sanctuaries in the state. The Zoological Park is also the country's fourth largest gharial (an endangered crocodile species) breeding area.

- On the basis of animal families living within the zoological park, the park is divided into two parts.
