About Farrukh Nagar Fort
Situated about 22 km away from the city centre, Farukh Nagar Fort gives you a glimpse into the past of the region. The Farrukhnagar Fort was built in 1732 by a Baloch named Faujdar Khan, the first Nawab of Farrukhnagar and the governor of the Mughal emperors Farrukhsiyar and Muhammad Shah Rangeela.
The fort is in the shape of an octagon, a quintessential feature of Mughal architecture. Some of the major attractions here include Sheesh Mahal, Jama Masjid and Baoli.

Farrukhnagar flourished because of its salt trade. Khan built the fort around the octagonal city, with a five-gate entrance, his palace was known as the Sheesh Mahal, the fort has a huge concrete entrance called the Delhi Gate which is curved inside leads to. Farukhnagar Fort is indeed one of the best exponents of pre-Mughal architecture.
