About Red Fort
The iconic fort also known as Lal Quila is located in Chandni Chowk Old Delhi. Constructed in red sandstone, it a is wonderful epitome of imposing power, architectural brilliance, and pompous style of the Mughal emperors. Its outstanding Main gate commonly known as Lahori gate attracts crowd, especially on Independence Day.

Architecture of Red Fort
The fort, spread over 255 acres, has an inclusive architectural pattern of Islamic, Hindi, Taimur, and Persian. Its large, 2.5-km-long-spanned partitions are made of red sandstone and from where the monument was named. Some components of the palace are also built of red stone, while in many places the structure has been constructed using marble. The structure, which is in the form of an unusual octagon, contains elements of the lawn layout and additionally has furniture, bastions, pavilions, two gates, and several separate sections.
