Kondapalli Fort, Vijayawada

Kondapalli Fort, located on Ghat Road in Kondapalli, Andhra Pradesh, is a historic hill fort built in the 14th century during the reign of the Tuluva dynasty of the Vijayanagara Empire. Built on a hilltop, this fortress served as a military stronghold and administrative center, overseeing the region's trade routes. It underwent renovations under the Qutb Shahi rulers in the 16th–17th centuries, who added fortified bastions and expanded the internal enclosures. The fort features multiple defensive and residential structures arranged over terraced levels, demonstrating advanced planning and stone masonry expertise.
