About Taraporewala Aquarium
Taraporevala Aquarium is located on Marine Drive. It was inaugurated in the year 1951 by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, who was the first President of India. The major contributor to the aquarium was a Parsi philanthropist, DB Taraporevala, after whom the aquarium was named. The aquarium houses 2,000 fish in over 400 species. It hosts marine and freshwater fish.

The Taraporevala aquarium has a 12 foot long and 180 degree acrylic glass tunnel. Taraporewala Aquarium was built in 1951 at a cost of ₹800,000.
Interesting facts about Taraporewala Aquarium
This small aquarium has over 100 species of marine and fresh water fish and underwater creatures, including turtles, morays, sharks and recently added varieties of coral fish from the Lakshadweep islands.
