About Tughlaqabad Fort
Tughlaqabad Fort is a historical fort located in Delhi, India. It was constructed in the 14th century during the reign of the Tughlaq dynasty, especially by Sultan Ghiyas-ud-din Tughlaq. Tughlaqabad Fort is famous for its imposing stone walls, which surround the entire complex. The layout of the fort is unique, with a fortified town, citadel and other structures within its walls. The strategic design of the fort was intended to provide protection against invasions.
According to legend, it was abandoned after a curse was placed on the fort. It is said that the construction of the fort was done in haste and the death of a favorite disciple of the Sufi saint Shaikh Nizam-ud-din Auliya was attributed to Sultan Ghiyas-ud-din Tughlaq. As a result, the fort eventually collapsed due to the curse.
