Allen Forest Zoo is among the oldest and was opened for people on 4th February, 1974. It is scattered in a huge area of approximately 76 ha and it appears to be a manmade forest. The environs of this zoo are rising and falling, which looks quite similar to a large forest but at the same time it is constructed on contemporary zoo construction principles. The animals are put into cemented and open closures, which gives them adequate space for moving around and expressing themselves. There are nearly 1400 animals found here and there is a small fish aquarium for the visitors

JK Temple, Kanpur

Bithoor is approximately 21 km from the city of Kanpur and is a significant site as far as history of India and Hindu religion are concerned. Huge rallies took place in Bithoor against the East India company and it was one of the chief epicentre of 1857 revolt. The fable has it that after the devastation of the cosmos and restoration of the universe by Lord Vishnu, The creator Lord Brahma chose this place to perform the holy yagna and henceforth named the town, Brahmavart. Currently, Bithoor houses huge farm houses of the elite class of Kanpur and attracts tourists in large number to visit the Brahmavart Ghat, Sudhanshu and Valmiki Ashram. They also come here for boating.

Kanpur Memorial Church, Kanpur
Kanpur Memorrial Church is situated in the calm environs of the cantonment area. Also famous as All Souls Cathedral, this church was constructed in the year 1875 to pay respect to the British lives that were lost in the1857 movement. It was designed by an architect Walter Granville, the church exhibits Lombardic Gothic architecture. There is a huge garden in the the eastern section of the church. In the middle of the church you will see a marvellously carved figurine of an angel created by Baron Carlo Marochetti. The angel holds sign of peace in her crossed arms, which is a divine sight.

Nana Rao Park, Kanpur
Nicely placed in the centre of the city, Kanpur, Nana Rao Park has a lot of historical significance to Kanpur. This park was constructed in honor of the British women, who lost their lives in the revolt of 1857. It was also the epicentre of 1857 revolution in the city of Kanpur and it is said that approximately 148 Indian revolutionaries were hung up here. Located in the heart of the city, Phool Bagh, an urban park attracts people in large number all round the year. ISKCON Temple, Kanpur
The ISKCON temple is another attraction in Kanpur and is devoted to Lord Krishna, the Hindu God worshipped all over the world. It is a spiritual attraction and is situated on Mainavati Marg of the Bithoor Road barely 3 Kms from the city of Kanpur. The ideal time to visit the ISKCON Temple is in August and September as Krishna Janmashtami and Radhashtami are held at this time.
