About Phool Bagh and Kanpur Museum

Phool Bagh Park was initially called Queen's Park and has historical significance along with the oldest gardens in the city. The former was started as the King Edward Memorial Hall in memory of King Edward VII. The museum located in it was established in 1999. The museum is a repository of artifacts and exhibitions that tell the story of the events and people that influenced the formation of the city of Kanpur. The Kanpur Museum has a huge hall-type structure with a highly decorated ceiling and a bell tower.

The museum building was constructed by European merchants as a European-style ballroom with highly decorated ceilings and belfry. After being converted into an official museum, specific architectural changes have been made with the aim of restoring, preserving and facilitating the display of artifacts.
