About Kanpur Zoological Park
Allen Forest Zoo is the largest open green space in Kanpur and the largest zoological park in North India. The zoo was opened on February 4, 1974 under the supervision of the then IFS officer RS Bhadauria. This zoo is spread over 76.56 hectares in which 1400 animals are found.
It is one of those zoological parks which have been built on modern zoo building principles. The animals living in the Zoological Park are kept in open and dense enclosures. Lots of animals to see including tigers, leopards and lions. Also tourists can see a fish aquarium here.
