About Waste To Wonder Park
West to Wonder Park is a theme park located in Delhi that houses replicas of the Seven Wonders of the World. The park was inaugurated on 21 February 2019 by Rajnath Singh, the then Home Minister of India. Waste to Wonder Park serves as an educational platform, which aims to promote sustainable practices and environmental awareness. The park offers visitors an opportunity to see firsthand the possibilities for waste reduction and recycling. It encourages visitors, especially students and children, to reconsider their attitudes towards waste disposal and the potential of reusing materials to create valuable artifacts.
In addition to its educational focus, the park offers a unique recreational experience. Visitors can view the intricately designed sculptures, take photographs and enjoy leisure time in beautiful surroundings. Architecture of Waste To Wonder Park
Waste to Wonder Park is spread over an area of more than 7 acres and is located in the Rajiv Gandhi Smriti Van near Sarai Kale Khan. It was built by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) in 6 months at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore. It was inaugurated by the then Home Minister Rajnath Singh. West of Wonder Park New Delhi is divided into 7 different sections, each focused on one wonder of the world.
Interesting facts about Waste To Wonder Park
- The centerpiece of the park is a collection of seven impressive replicas of famous world landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal, the Great Pyramid of Giza, Christ the Redeemer, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Colosseum, and the Statue of Liberty.The sculptures are manufactured using around 150 tonnes of recycled scrap and waste materials, showcasing the concept of upcycling.Waste to Wonder Park aims to promote environmental awareness by demonstrating the potential for waste reduction and creative reuse.Visitors can view the sculptures, take photographs and enjoy the lush green surroundings, making it a popular destination for families, students and tourists.The sculptures are illuminated at night, enhancing the visual appeal of the park and creating a different atmosphere after sunset.
