About Massacre Ghat
The massacre ghat is situated on the banks of the Ganges near Jajmau. Formerly named as Nana Rao Ghat, it is also known as Sati Ghat because the most objectionable Sati rituals were performed here. This place is called the massacre because in 1857 about 300 people were killed there in cold blood. Around 300 British men, women and children were murdered at the Satti Chaura Ghat, later recognized as the Massacre Ghat.
Narasana Ghat is on the river Ganges and is a good place to visit with your friends. The river Ganges flows from here and there are some refreshments around it to satisfy your hunger.
