About Dipor Bil
Deepor Beel , is a freshwater lake in the eastern channel of the Brahmaputra river in the city of Guwahati. Spread over a vast area of 40 sq km, this lake was declared a bird sanctuary in 1989 due to its rich biodiversity and heritage. There are various species of plants along the lake, including hyacinths, water lilies, aquatic grasses, marshlands and vegetation patches.
Around 19000 different species of rare and endangered birds can be seen daily at this place. This place has completely become the main attraction for the tourists.
