About Empress Garden
The Empress Garden located in Pune was earlier known as "Soldier Garden". This garden was created in the year 1838. This popular garden is a dream-like place to visit in Pune city and is maintained by the Agro-Horticulture Society of Western India. The Empress Garden is well maintained and the main objective of this society is to protect the unusual flora of the area. There are rare varieties of flowers and trees in this garden.
Many flower shows are organized here by the Agro-Horticulture Society so that people get to know about the unique species of flora. A stream flows around the garden, which is an added attraction here. This garden is amazingly natural and it attracts all the tourists visiting it.
Architecture of Empress Garden
The garden lies on a sprawling spread of approximately 59 acres of real estate and has an amazing collection of very rare species of trees, shrubs and flowers. The garden has many shrubs with flowers of various hues of colors. There are many trees of tamarind and mangoes in the garden.

- There are some swings, slides and other activities for kids when you enter inside. Some of them love balloon shooting and some are paid for water games.
- The main produce of the garden includes cut flowers, many varieties of mango and tamarind.
- There are many types of trees in the garden such as bottle brush or Callistemon citrinus, Cassia fistula, Cananga-odorta, Brownia-ariza, Delonix regia, Cassia lan-castri, Baccia insignis and Sa-raca.
- The garden has a 250-year-old banyan tree, a 150-year-old Kanchan-Vel and a huge bamboo 30 meters tall.
